Chris's Learning Story
While observing in the playground today, I noticed Chris playing alongside Emma and Jack. They were engaged in a game, taking turns and sharing ideas about how to play with a ball. Chris was enthusiastic, smiling and laughing as he passed the ball to his friends. Occasionally, he stepped back to let Emma and Jack take their turns, showing that he was beginning to understand the value of sharing during play.
This moment highlights Chris's developing social skills and ability to cooperate with others. He is learning that collaboration not only enhances the game but also strengthens his relationships with his peers. His willingness to share the ball indicates that he is starting to enjoy playing together rather than focusing solely on competing, which is an important step in his social development.
To build on this experience, I plan to introduce more group activities that encourage working together, such as team games and cooperative challenges. I will support Chris in understanding the importance of friendship and teamwork, guiding him to see how sharing and taking turns enriches play for everyone involved.
