Greg's Learning Story
During our time in the playground, I noticed Greg engaged in a lively game of tennis with his friend Murray. They took turns throwing the ball back and forth, with Chris cheering them on from the side. Greg was focused, anticipating the ball's arrival and taking steps to adjust his position to make the catch. It was heartening to see the three children collaborating and sharing this enjoyable activity together, demonstrating a sense of teamwork and communication in their play.
This moment highlights Greg’s ability to form friendships and engage positively with his peers. His enthusiasm for the game illustrates his growing confidence in social situations. By participating in cooperative play, Greg is developing important social skills, learning to navigate turns, and understanding the dynamics of play within a group. It was clear that he felt comfortable around his friends, as they laughed and encouraged each other throughout the game.
To support Greg's growth, I will encourage him to invite additional friends to join in their games. Providing opportunities for him to engage with larger groups will help him further develop his social abilities. I'll observe how he interacts with multiple peers, guiding him in taking turns and sharing the game more broadly. As he builds these skills, I look forward to witnessing his growing confidence with different social interactions.
